The cure for superstition is an increased appreciation of the being of God: not names only, but character and being. The idea that the devil is afraid of a word or a gesture is pure superstition. He is not afraid of any name, not even the name Jesus. There are thousands of little boys in Latin America who bear that name, and surely Satan does not stand in fear of them.
No, it is not a combination of letters that strikes terror to the heart of Satan. It is the glorious Person who bears the name Jesus whom he fears. To the name Jesus God has added the titles ‘Lord and Christ,’ and this means that all power has been given unto Him in heaven and in earth. Back of the name is the sovereign Person of God’s Son, our Savior. From this Person Satan flees, but it is a waste of time and effort to try to impress him with mere words and phrases.
In the degree that we know God Himself, we shall be free from superstitious fears; and in the degree that we are affected by signs, gestures, phrases and ‘religious objects’ (as they are naively called), we are in the bonds and snares of superstition.
Have you ever got involved with untakable, unshakable or unstealable folk? The folk is always there! Whether you go for days not communicating or get involved in long distance relation, you find him/her still more interested in you than before. If you meet such a folk, never allow temptations to double cross you.
For once double-crossed, it can never be easy to gain his/her trust again. Even the feeling of his/her touch shall be imagined, and it will never be easy nor the same again.
For even the intimacy can go from hot to low, then before you know it, then turn hot again for the thirst for each other is never ending. The love where the truth is only shared. Never scared to pour our feelings to each other. Crying, sulking or furious. No matter how good or bad the truth may be. No matter how scary the details are, the truth gets communicated before it gets wiped off.
I know the feeling of coldness, even the freezer can never freeze the connection which is running. Eventually, the 0 degrees Celcius weather can freeze the body and squeeze life of it, but connection keeps revolving. Eventually, our eyes and ears turn red due to unsolvable issues, but when the sun sets, we still want each other in each other’s arms.
We argue a lot, but once one tear falls from one’s eye we take the tissue, then wipe in order to come up with solutions. We talk about how painful it becomes to trespass each other, then work on solving every problem piece-by-piece without leaving any stone unturned. Spending all day long arguing in order to solve problems which one of us began, even though we have journeys to travel. Hence, at the end, all the journeys will be traveled with solutions brought forth.
Ever imagined such stressless, but fruitful connections?
When we think about spiritual things, there is always danger that we think like men instead of like God.
Theological truth cannot enter the mind as a separate substance or as an experience complete in itself. It must be grasped by the mind in an act of response; and the response is conditioned by everything that has gone before in the learner’s life. Whether or not we are conscious of doing so, we invariably add something to the truth as it enters (or take something away) to make it fit into the total body of ideas we hold, and call ‘truth’.
To show how this works let us imagine two men reading the same passage of Scripture, one a Calvinist who has been brought up on Calvinistic theology from his youth, the other reared in the Arminian tradition and thoroughly indoctrinated in Arminianism. The passage they read is Hebrews 6:4-6. It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened if they fall away, to be brought back to repentance?
The impressions the Calvinist receives from these words will differ radically from those received by the Arminian, yet neither one will be conscious of adding to, subtracting from or otherwise altering the passage in any way. Each will understand the words to mean exactly what he has been taught that they mean. The meaning he sees there will appear to him so natural, so logical and right that he will wonder how anyone can see any other. (And sadly enough each will more than likely think the other a hypocrite who receives his teaching from the devil. But that is not pertinent to this particular argument.)
No one has any right to believe that he is indeed a Christian unless he is humbly seeking to obey the teachings of the One whom he calls Lord. Christ once asked a question (Luke 6:46) that can have no satisfying answer, ?Why do you call me, `Lord, Lord,? and do not do what I say??
Right here we do well to anticipate and reply to an objection that will likely arise in the minds of some readers. It goes like this: ?We are saved by accepting Christ, not by keeping His commandments. Christ kept the law for us, died for us and rose again for our justification, and so delivered us from all necessity to keep commandments. Is it not possible, then, to become a Christian by simple faith altogether apart from obedience??
Many honest persons argue in this way, but their honesty cannot save their argument from being erroneous. Theirs is the teaching that has in the last fifty years emasculated the evangelical message and lowered the moral standards of the Church until they are almost indistinguishable from those of the world. It results from a misunderstanding of grace and a narrow and one-sided view of the gospel, and its power to mislead lies in the element of truth it contains. It is arrived at by laying correct premises and then drawing false conclusions from them.
In my entire life, I have called various people by different sweet names. Hence, one of the sweetest which I even felt its sweetness from deep down my heart have never exited out of my lips previously. Actually, most sweet names I had Knowledge of them and even calling them was due to formality of the way things were ordered. However, few which had deep meaning, they never escaped out of my lips. For they needed deep meaning and to be said rightfully with one’s heart.
To pour my heart out, it always gets personal when a person would love to call you with a certain name which nobody have been or not used to be called with. Many sweet names are used by many people, but one of the best are never used due to the weight they have.
Nevertheless, to break the ice, currently the sweet name just got spitted out of my lips without any notification. And all of a sudden, the name does not ramdomly nor routinely come out for anyone. It just get shot with direction like a bullet straight from the AK47 to another’s heart. And never misses the spot directed to and even the intention of it. This sweet name comes out to only one person, and at some point it just get voiced out without my expectation nor mindfulness because it is deep.
The sweetness of this folk is so special to the state where the name is accompanied by the deep feeling within the heart. Ever received a feeling whereby the heart would love to hug this certain individual with arms melted away? The feeling of hearing laughter in his/her absence? His ways of making you angry or annoyed turning into sourish honey, but due to the deep sweetness, the honey heals your heart, soul and spirit!
I don’t know about you, but currently this sweet name ‘Honey’ runs deep in my vains when I voice it out.
God’s Word says that a faithful and wise steward gives the people their meat in due season. Some people preach the Bible all right, and you cannot deny that. But they go to the Bible as you would to a medical book to find out what you should prescribe. But instead of prescribing to suit each patient, they just prescribe for everybody at one time.
When a preacher is not preaching to a given situation, it is like giving medicine to people indiscriminately. That approach is not particularly fitted for teaching the Word of God. Even though it may be faithful and true, without any regard to the current situation, it is like teaching the multiplication table.
The New Testament epistles were written to specific conditions, as were the seven letters of Revelation. Particular situations developed, and then the man of God wrote to these particular people. The seven letters found in Revelation were to particular churches, having regard to the needs of those churches. It was the same with the prophets of the Old Testament.
No prophet went into an ivory tower, settled down to relax, read deeply awhile, took out a pen and said, “Now, I’m going to write a book of prophecy.” They did not do it that way. They wrote to the need, to the situation. They aimed their arrows at a target. When God is speaking to a particular situation the power of the Holy Spirit is present and active.
When David sinned, Nathan the prophet came to him and told a little parable. When David gave his judgment of what to do with the sinful man, Nathan pointed his finger at the king and said, “You are the man” (2 Samuel 12:7a). Immediately David threw off his crown and his robe, dropped his scepter, fell on his knees and repented before God. That was a particular situation. When we are talking to a specific situation the sheep are separated from the goats, the veil is removed and the judgment begins.
Have you ever had that person where you enjoyed their company? That person whereby they are rude to you? However, due to loving their reply of rudeness, you just laugh. Every now and then at their quietness you do not feel good to just let the day pass without hearing how far of their rudeness has got!
Their rudeness gets pervasive. Hence, you wonder in their quietness, “what the hack is going on? Are they sick or what?” I do not know, but there is that believe that the cycle of rudeness might end one day and the person will laugh at the way the communication was. Actually, appreciate and become thankful that gave up on them. Eventually, how the person being rude towards you did not stop the communication despite the rudeness.
There is a saying that the one whom works will eventually play hard. Consistency in everything is the key. Whilst learnt to be consistent in one, it can never be easy to just let go or quit in anything. Hence, once one does not know how to stop being rude, it suddenly becomes one’s habit. For at first, it was painful to receive the rudeness or not being treated right by this certain individual. However, after removing the heart in the centre of the relation, one can suddenly enjoy the person’s connection despite the rudeness. At the end, you just flow and believe that the person has a hard time and there is no other way one can respond to certain individuals.
To break the ice, the connection always works. Instead of cutting the communication, you can put on the act of empathy. The more you communicate with them it shows how patient you are. It shows care and more especially empathy, and they will never forget you. In your quietness, they will get worried because you always replied back or even began the conversation despite the sour words.
Trust me, the person being rude towards you, cares more about you and the reason they are rude towards you, it is because they want you in their life and they do not know how to voice that feeling out. Hence, you never have to take every single rudeness personally. Just pave the rudeness to the side and put yourself in their shoes. Afterwards, you will realize of how hot or bad days can become sometimes.
I always wish to say something to certain people. I always wish I can privately advice or correct certain people despite their position, how old they are or what we are in this life in terms of relations. However, due to no time or being scared that they might think I know it all. I withdraw the advice from being voiced for the better of things. Hence, I never offer it when it becomes personal. For in order to grow someone next to you has to grow as well. Development is essential.
To break the ice, the person in me always would love to show compassion to all the folks surrounding me. It can never be easy to just share your truthful opinion to any folk, especially since you just met them or maybe just arrived at a new location. Business or not, sharing the best advice is the best. It shows that there is a certain part of you which cares a lot for even the strangers. For there are those strangers whereby communicating with them feels like you have found your long lost sister or brother. It becomes deep to the state whereby you even pay a rule of forbidden to be wiped out.
One of the hardest lessons in life is letting go, whether it is guilt, anger, love, loss or betrayal. Change is never easy. We fight to hold on and we fight to let go.
However, to pour my heart out, self-reflection is valuable. It lets you grow physically, mentally and spiritually. Eventually, I have realized something important lately. There were seasons were I began my day with Quiet Time and Exercising, while there were days whereby I just had short Quiet Times without reading any scripture nor exercised.
To break the ice, there was a huge difference where I began my day with Quiet Time and Exercising. And then my day ran smoothly and it was full of joy without any disturbance. The good day became good while began it right. The moment you wake up in the dawn and know what to do is the beginning of success. Wake up, check the time and ensure that it is the ‘no phone’ period. Being quiet, listening to the voice of God via the scriptures. Normalize using tongues while praying to ensure everything is counted within prayer. Then everything you touch or get surrounded to, will never go wrong.
Secondly, without prayer everything goes wrong from the get-go. While you go out, you suddenly meet with the devil. For you did not meet with God first thing after opening your eyes. Actually, you are the devil’s target without any doubt and will never miss the worst bullets. For he will stand at your door and ensure he walks with you all the way with surity of everything going wrong. Even the prepared and planned things unfold as unprepared or unplanned due to not starting the day with Quiet Time and Exercise.
To break the ice, I am no longer going back to starting my day without any prayer or stretching myself. Everything planned and prepared unfolds as planned-prepared while began the day with prayer and some stretch. The energy installed by God within never runs out during the course of the day. Actually, even while the devil sent someone to test and temper with your emotions, the plan never works.
To let the cat out of the bag, the prayer covers even the unseen. The invisible which tries to cause unsettlement in your heart, soul and spirit. Hence, as long as the day was started with the spiritual meeting, nothing can even ruin your day. Even the devil’s tactics will never work. He will do everything through circumstances and people within your surrounding to temper with anything which will unlock the door to sadness, annoyance, irritation or anger within you all day long.
Hence, with prayer you conquer everything. Even the unnoticeable or unknown wars against you which you do not have knowledge of. So pray in the morning, within the course of your day and even before your eyes closes to rest for the night.
